A team of localizers wanted to offer free translations in languages publishers often overlook. Automating repetitive content work with AI agents sharply reduces costs and the grind that leads to burnout, giving people more time for decisions, creativity, and quality. We built a shared workflow, tools, and website for localizing many games.

Interface designA Steam-inspired design, built around a multilingual experience that feels native in every language.Backend developmentA shared server, glossaries, tools, and documented skills let translators rotate in and out while keeping work moving. The team can localize several projects at once, choose its AI provider, and use subscription-based coding agents instead of API access.Self-managed hostingA modest server is enough for self-hosting. Screenshots and localization files average just 100–200 MB per game: even at 200 MB each, it takes 50 localized games to use 10 GB.Early SEO setupPerformance was optimized so loading speed does not get in the way of promotion. The supplied audits show 100 on desktop and 92 on mobile, with SEO at 100 on both.Bot protectionThe site attracted heavy bot traffic from day one, so we configured bot protection.
Publishing tools
Add games, upload releases, update screenshots, and prepare SEO and social posts. Admin and CLI operations connect publishing to the localization workflow.
Game catalogManage games, publication status, and estimated costs in one catalog.Game editorOne shared publishing structure for every game.MediaManage catalog imagery and separate desktop and mobile covers.GlossaryKeep terminology consistent with a shared game glossary.ReleasesPublish multilingual releases for Windows and macOS.Content auditFind missing content across games and languages.Model usageTrack model usage and estimated costs by production stage.AnnouncementsPrepare localized announcements for gaming communities.
Content management with AI agents
The admin panel is useful, but repeating the same updates across games and languages gets tedious. AI coding agents with terminal access can handle routine content operations through the project CLI.

Example: FTL: Faster Than Light
A text-heavy space roguelike with 80,331 words. The task: translate it into 30 languages in one week. AI token costs totaled $54.
01 · Extract assetsText inventory and texture scope.
Note: Asset extraction revealed a wordplay trap: ABADOTH is the correct password; ABATODH is a misleading alternative. AI can flag such anomalies, but a complete list from the game’s creator is more reliable. When that is unavailable, we investigate the assets ourselves to find as many as possible.
02 · Glossary review — Human + AIThe AI proposed «Рок». The Russian fan wiki documents «Валуны», the name players already use. Human review preserves that community terminology.03 · Translate — AI onlyThe most time-consuming and costly stage: 1–2 days, carried out entirely by AI.04 · Draft testing — Human + AIA player records 30 minutes of gameplay and saves at key screens. AI turns the recording into repeatable actions, captures 10–15 screens per language, and checks 300–500 images for clipping, overflow, broken glyphs, and right-to-left rendering issues.05 · Package — AI onlyOnce testing is complete, AI builds installers for macOS and Windows that add the selected language to the game. We upload and host these installers on the website for players to download.06 · Publish — Human + AIOnce the localization is ready, we enable “Visible on site” and publish the game to the catalog. AI automatically prepares localized announcements and adds SEO markup to the game page.
